Bodega is a game about personal involvement in enacting justice. Play as a bodega owner who catches a young thief in their store and decides the child's fate.

With a set of themes to choose from (Diversity, Equality, Justice, Opportunity, and Inclusivity.) Our group settled on Justice in relation to the BLM movement. After a considerably long session of brainstorming, we decided that we wanted to tackle this theme by having players enact what Justice looks like to them through personal engagement. Not as a figure of authority, but as an every-person, a Bodega cashier.

With the use of branching narratives, we allowed players to talk and deal with a young thief in your store in a variety of ways, promoting active engagement over passive compliance with the law to do the right thing.
